American Legation Museum

The only US National Historic Landmark located overseas, the American Legation Museum was gifted to Morocco in 1821 and was by turns a diplomatic headquarters and a centre for intelligence personnel during the Second World War. Today this Moorish-style mansion is celebrated for its elaborate stucco work, wrought-iron balconies overlooking a central courtyard and sumptuous rooms decorated with fine antique furniture.
